Review: Hada Labo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream

Blogger has really been driving me crazy lately.. I wanted to get this post up last night but it was impossible to load the new post page on Mozilla and Chrome browser. And now I resort to using my oldie but goodie ancient Internet Explorer. Yay! Now I know who to turn to when all else fail.

Anyway enough of  my lamenting!

For almost half a month now, I have been using the Hada Labo Intense Hydration Moisturizing Cream and can say that I am confident to give a proper review / report of the product.

Review: MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural

Remember not too long ago, I did a lil' retail therapy at MAC? One of the item which I bought was the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (MSFN). This is an item which I have been wanting to try for the longest time after reading Tiffany's beauty blog which she uses this product in many of her FOTD posts. I love how glowy and healthy her skin always looks in those posts.

Review: My Beauty Diary Sake Yeast Mask & Black Pearl Mask

So I decided to use up the remaining mask which I bought back then from my My Beauty Diary Mask Haul cos my face is in this total mess now due to very little sleep and too much caffeine over the past week. I was pretty skeptical this time around cos of what happened back then. But... since my skin is already in a horrible condition, I figured tht there was nothing much to lose.

Hi everyone, how's ur day so far?

I'm pretty stressed out at the moment with work. It's 6pm now and I am still working. Think it's gonna be a long night ahead of me since I gotta finish up this work no matter what. I'm stealing a moment to blog since for me this is really a good stress releasing therapy apart from running on the treadmill.

Review: MAC Studio Fix Fluid

To say that I love MAC Studio Fix Fluid would be an understatement. I ADORE IT! As much as I enjoyed using my good ole bb cream, the studio fix fluid totally kicked ass and personally I would think it was a one-time knock out for my bb cream.

Review: Hada Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Whitening Face Wash

Somehow I feel that I've been slacking from my little hobby, a.k.a this beauty blog. Though I had been posting but it just did not feel right since I haven't been doing much make up/beauty related posts.

Review: Dove Therapy Treatment Mask

So sad, I'm done with this tub

I finished using my Dove Therapy treatment hair mask 2 weeks ago. And my hair was feeling rather dry and brittle without any hair mask. So I went out to the stores to get more of the same mask. And guess what I found?

Current Addiction #1: Facial Masks featuring My Beauty Diary Masks

Hi guys, I decided to start a current addiction tag post every now and then just to keep u guys updated with the latest makeup/skincare/random stuff that I'm into.

For a start, I shall show u guys some products that I got in the MAIL yesterday (Opps...P10Pan seems so far away from completion). I'm currently in the 'Addicted to Facial Masks' phase mainly cause I got influenced by few skin perfect gal frens who religiously 'perform their mask routine daily if not on alternate days'. In my opinion, it's crazy to do facial mask everyday. But it seems to work well on them.

Before I start rambling further, I'll show u guys the masks which arrived yesterday!

Review: Drugstore Liquid Eyeliner

Hi everyone, I've been using the Loreal Lineur Intense liquid eyeliner for almost a week now. So I thought I should write a post comparing the drugstore liquid eyeliners I own. If to let me choose only one make up product i think liquid eyeliner will definitely be the one I will choose. I always think that eyeliner is the product that really makes the difference in one's make up especially for Asian gals. Well, but probably not everyone would agree with me on this.

Anyway here's the 3 drugstore liners that I will be comparing,

From top to bottom: Loreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner (Carbon Black), Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner (Absolute Brown), E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black)

NOTD & Review: Revlon Nail Polish in Tropical Temptation

Hi everyone, remember not long ago i did a small haul on Stage cosmetics and Revlon products? I just thought i will share with u guys about my views on the Revlon nail polish.

I bought only one nail polish from Revlon and it's the Tropical Temptation in 914. I am utterly relieved that i did not purchase more of their nail polishes. Before trying them out, i have rather high hopes. The formula turns out to be so hard to apply and the staying power is disastrous as well. It barely stayed on my nails for 3 days. Anyway i still love the color and i still do apply it on my nails when i don't have events or outings to attend.

Here's a picture of my nail of the day with Revlon's Tropical Temptation.

I really like the color but it's a shame that the quality is so bad.

Have u guys tried any of Revlon's nail polishes? Let me know what u guys thought about it if u have tried it. Maybe the one i bought happens to be a bad quality one.

XOXO

Review: Eco Tools Bamboo 6 Piece Eye Brush Set

Hi everyone, i'm back from my little traveling and i am so burn out from the trip. I really missed having internet access and blogging. Anyway i packed the Eco Tools eye brush set along with me for the whole trip and am now confident to do a review and tell u guys how i felt about it.

So, before i go deeper into each brush, i will just do my conclusion first.
"I absolutely love them. I think everyone should have a set. It is soooooooo convenient to bring along when u're traveling."

Yup..that is what i felt about the brushes during my trip.

I bought this set here. It is a very affordable set and retails at USD$7.99.

This set comes with 5 eye brushes and a carry case hence 6 piece in total. It is made from natural and recycled materials and are cruelty free. I took the description of each brush from the website and thought i'll just show it to u guys here.

Overview

Large Eye Brush

1. Large Eye Brush - Apply and blend shadows
On the handle of the brush, they named it as a blend brush. I've been using it as an eye shadow and highlight brush to pat the shadows onto my eyes. As u can see from the pic, it is rather big as compared to the ELF eye shadow brush which makes patting shadows really fast and easy. The bristles are very soft and products come onto the brush easily. I have some doubts about it initially cos my lids are really small but now I would say that this is my favourite and most frequent used brush among all.

Comparing the angled crease brush to ELF eyeshadow brush

2. Angled Crease Brush - Softly apply colour to crease for definition
I am not a big fan of this brush mainly cos it’s slightly big for me to be used as a crease brush. However, again the bristles are very soft so I just use this to sweep off any fallout from my lids.

Comparing the large eye brush and petite eye shading brush to ELF eyeshadow brush

3. Petite Eye Shading Brush - Use with deeper or accent colours for a bold look
I like this brush but have not seen much use of it throughout my trip. I think its cos I had brought the ELF brownstone quad and had been doing neutral eyes only and the highlight brush and the large eye brush is already sufficient for this kind of eye look.

4. Highlighting Brush - Perfect for highlighting the brow bone and inner corners of the eye
This is my second favourite brush. I used it as a blending brush throughout my trip. Again, the bristles are very soft and due to the size, it makes blending a lot faster and easier. Sometimes I used the brush to pat on some outer corner colours as well.

Comparing the highlight brush and smudge brush to ELF blending eye brush

5. Smudge Brush - Smudge shadow and liner along lash line for a smoky look
This again is a brush that I had used the least during my trip. It is a great brush to do lower waterline colour and to smudge the lower liner. But I haven’t been using it cos I’m not a big fan of lining my lower waterline. I used this on my friend though and she absolutely loves this smudge brush.

I definitely recommend u guys to get it if you're looking for affordable eye brushes.

XOXO

Review: Clinique 3 Steps System

My skin condition was rather bad before i started using Clinique 3 steps (Type 2). Main reason was due to stress and a change in my facial regime. I switched to Olay Total Effects foaming cleanser after finished using my Biotherm cleanser. The Olay Total Effects cleanser made my skin dry and my pores enlarged.

The Culprit

During the initial month, the 3 steps really helped regain my skin to its original condition. As i've mentioned here, the only complain i have was that the moisturizing lotion is too oily (I have combination skin). Fastforwarding to week 14, i finished up the system 2 weeks ago and switched to my backup skincare.

1. Step 1: Clinique Liquid Facial Soap

My thoughts:
Did a good job as a cleanser but i was expecting more due to the price & hype from reviews. Perhaps a glowing face or smaller pores? I gotta admit that it leaves my skin clean, fresh and soft. However, my current cleanser (Olay Natural White healthy fairness foaming cleanser) is doing the same thing. And comparing the price, Olay can be bought at less than RM10 (100g) but a bottle of Clinique liquid facial soap is RM 78 (200ml).

Current Cleanser

Verdict: 3.8/5 ; I will go for Olay since it's doing the same job at lower price.

2. Step 2: Clinique Clarifying Lotion

My thoughts:
This has a strong sense of alcohol in it and it stings my face whenever i have pimples or cuts from eyebrow shaving. I'm pretty fine with the smell but some may find it unbearable. Like the cleanser, it did a good job as a toner for me. It helped my pore size to regain to their original size after my skin disaster. But i did not find it to further minimize them. Now i switched to Loreal White Perfect Whitening Toner, i find that Loreal is doing the same thing to my skin. It maintained my pore size and the better part is that it has whitening effect which i love!

I put my toner in the Anna Sui spray bottle for easy & fast application.
The smaller bottle is easier for traveling too!

Verdict: 3.5/5; If only it had further minimized my pores! =(
Anyway Loreal is a whole load cheaper too (Loreal 200ml RM 23 compared to Clinique 200ml RM 83)!

3. Step 3: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

My thoughts:
I dislike this lotion. It made my skin really oily and because of that, i never use it as a day lotion. I used it as a night lotion and again i don't see any 'dramatically different' changes in my skin. The only thing it did was to prevent my cheeks drying. I'm currently using my Biotherm White Detox Hydrating Milk Lotion as my night lotion (it was my day lotion). It's doing a better job and i prefer it due to its less oiliness and whitening effect.

Verdict: 2/5; I definitely need a new moisturizer after i'm done with my Biotherm as well. Will not repurchased the Clinique one again.

Overall:
I don't think i will repurchase this system again. I don't mind spending more money on skincare but i'm always expecting more results from higher end products and this system was only doing good and decent but not fantastic job.

Swatches: ELF Brightening Eye Color

After much procrastination, I decided that it's time for me to do some serious swatches of the ELF Brightening Eye Color which I've hauled. A short recap of ELF if you have yet to try anything from their site. All professional line are $1 while the studio line (which is of better quality, I presume) are $3. I got slightly order happy, and bought a total of 7 quads all together. So, here are the swatches:

Top Row (Left to Right): Drama, Silver Lining

Middle Row (Left to Right): Hazy Hazel, Luxe
Last Row: (Left to Right): Brownstone, Ethereal, Butternut

Drama

Swatch of Drama. This is one of my absolute favorites. It's great for smoky eyes.

The quad has 3 glittery colors and one matte white.

Silver Lining

Swatch of Silver lining. All the colors are slightly glittery.

Beware of the black though, it's really pigmented and tend to have a lot of fall outs.

Hazy Hazel

Swatch of Hazy Hazel. I adore the purple and the lighter brown.

Luxe

Swatch of Luxe

Brownstone

Swatch of Brownstone. Great matte neutrals.

Ethereal

Swatch of Ethereal. This is another of my favorite.

It has 4 great everyday colors (Slightly glittery). Great for lectures.
But i do noticed that this us not as pigmented compared to the rest.

Butternut

Swatch of Butternut

Let me know if you want more details or to see any looks from the quads.

p/s: Apologies for the photo quality as I've taken them using my phone.

Swatches: Why I Love ELF Products

Hi guys, I will be blogging about some parcels which I've recently received in the mail soon. But I reckon before doing so, I would feature some swatches of the products that I've been using and loving lately from my last haul.

All of the products mentioned in this post are from ELF which stands for eyes lips face, they are retailed at US$1.00 for professional line and US$3.00 for their studio line products. All of the products which I've bought from my initial order are from the professional line as I wanted to try out the brand first before taking a plunge in getting the pricier items. Unfortunately, at this point in time, all products can only be purchased from their US website at eyeslipsface.com. In order to get the products, I bought it through one of the sellers in lowyat.net who specialises in providing ordering service for US/UK retailers.

Top Picture: ELF custom compact (one side of it fits the shadow and the other side is a huge mirror)
From top left corner (clockwise): Sage, Golden Glow, Ivory, Dusk

From left: Sage, Golden Glow, Dusk, Ivory

From top (first row):Elf Tinted Moisturizer(rosy beige & honey)
Second row: Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (sun kissed & luminance)
Third row: Luscious Liquid Lipstick (ruby slipper)
Btm row: Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 (Goddess)

From left: Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (sun kissed),
Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder (luminance),

Elf Tinted Moisturizer(rosy beige),

Elf Tinted Moisturizer(honey),

Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF15 (Goddess),
Luscious Liquid Lipstick (ruby slipper)

I've been mostly wearing the shadows from the ELF quad lately which I've pulled together by purchasing the compact and four eyeshadows. The colors are very pigmented and relatively easy to apply, if you are to compare them with the nameless brands in Malaysia. I particularly liked Golden Glow as an all over lid color and would sometime use Dusk as a highlight for my cheeks as well. However, the down side is that u might quite a bit of fall out from the shadows. So it is advisable to not pick up as much product on your brush.

Other products such as the Healthy Glowing Bronzing Powder and Luscious Liquid Lipstick are also my favorites as both are true to color and easy to apply. I like how the bronzing powder gives out a soft glow to my face and is really perfect for the all year tropical climate that I'm in. The Luscious Liquid Lipstick has a nice minty scent to it and I simply love how it feels on my lips.

Have you tried any products from ELF?
